5 Simple Ways to Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten

Here are five simple ways you can support your child's kindergarten readiness at home:

1. Read Together Every Day: Reading for just 15–20 minutes each day helps build vocabulary, listening skills, imagination, and early literacy. Make reading a daily routine and encourage your child to ask questions about the story.

2. Encourage Independence: Give your child opportunities to practice everyday tasks such as putting on their coat, washing their hands, cleaning up toys, and making simple choices. These small moments help build confidence and responsibility.

3. Practice Early Learning Skills: Incorporate learning into everyday activities by counting objects, identifying colors and shapes, singing the alphabet, and practicing writing their name. Learning through play is one of the best ways to build foundational skills.
